A Labour Of Love
A fantastic example of short poetry and unrecognised talent written with feeling. Thanks to Tim at:
Sadness stealthily surrounding fires of distraction
Threateningly beckoning… imploring a reaction
Darkness to Light, it genuflects
Then contumaciously, objects
Decidedly ambivalent, it ‘tends it don’t exist
Conflatedly malevolent, it tries to thwart; resist
Extinguishing hope
Distinguishing rope
The noose of apathy constricting around
The neck of curiosity… all things profound
Deny it with the artificial Light
Becometh it a sacrificial plight
Kindling of lust, matches of pride
Relentlessly feigning from darkness, to hide
Impromptu and bastardized adoption
Lacking natural child of Light… becomes the only option
