Alone in the dark of night
She cries for daddy number one
She knows to stay out of sight
Until all are up with the sun

Mom doesn't want her around
Inside her young heart cries, Daddy!
She tries not making a sound
Her outsides hurt too, love mommy

Mom came back to start yelling
She hides by daddy number two
He stands between them, shielding
Can't stop hearing, i don't love you

Phone at daddy one's house rings
Daddy one and Daddy two talk
I've tried, but i can't fix these things
Come get her, so i can walk

Aaliyah, strong little girl
Aaliyah, Daddy's coming
He'll get you out of that whirl
A new tune you'll be humming
